Muskingum Tech is getting ready for a major change. The fourth president of the Technical College, Lynn Willett, Thursday announced that he plans to retire. The 61-year-old Willett says he will guide the college for one more year while the board of trustees conducts a search to replace him. The chairman of the Muskingum Tech board of trustees praised Willett for his 17-year tenure as president of the college. Willett oversaw the growth of the college’s foundation assets to more than two million dollars, expanded the academic award program for outstanding high school students and acquired more than 10 million dollars in federal and state grants. Willett cited personal reasons for his decision to retire, including the death of his brother at the age of 53, the passing of his parents in recent years and a brush with cancer.
