A partnership between the City of Zanesville and three local townships is having a tremendous impact on the economical development in those areas. Tuesday afternoon Joint Economical District (JED) meetings were held with the Washington, Springfield and Newton Townships to discuss their futures. The money for any economical project is divided by the city and the township...this ensures an equal burden of payment for new water and sewage lines to be installed. The revenues are collected by the city and dispersed in January and September. Possibly the most recent recognizable JED is the new Walmart in Newton Township. The next JED meeting will be held this summer, during the week of the Muskingum County Fair.
