Hunger is a growing problem in muskingum County and the 17-food pantries and 4-hot meal programs in the area are trying to address the situation. To help feed Muskingum County's hungry, these pantries and programs receive free food from the state's Mid-Ohio Food Bank. But with Govenor taft's recent budget cut announcements, feeding the hungry will become more difficult. To help fill the gap, committee members from operation feed are trying to surpass last year's campaign that brought in around 71-tons of non-perishable food items. Although this year's operation feed campaign does not begin until the first week of April, they are looking for a place to store the donated food items. Operation Feed is looking for voluteers to donate storage space that has the capacity of at least 10-thousand square feet. If you are able to provide the storage space, please contact Kinsey Tanner at 453-5588.
