The war against Saddam Hussein and terrorism is being felt in our community more and more each day. Last week we reported on some local families forming a support group to help parents and families deal with loved ones going off to an impending war. Today Whiz news learned that the 447th military police unit on Moxahala Avenue has been activated. A family member told us the news today. We stopped by the unit to talk with a commander about the activation and were told that its not yet official, and no comment would be made. But we were able to confirm other unit activations. The 1485th transportation company out of Coshocton, Dover and Steubenville and the 737th maintenance battalion out of Newark have been mobilized. A special ceremony will be held on Wednesday on the campus of Ohio State University-Newark for members of the battalion.. That event starts at 10 am.
