Zanesville’s public service director is speaking out about the city efforts to deal with the big storm. Mike Sims, public service director for the city of Zanesville, says alleys will be the last to be cleared and would appreciate it if residents would place trash cans in front of their homes and away from the alleys. Also, because of the extreme conditions, trash pick up for today has been delayed to next saturday. All other pick ups are as scheduled. Sims appreciates the downtown businesses for their understanding of the huge snow mounds and apologizes to those whose cars got stuck under the mounds. Unfortunately, the snow will stick around for a while. So,in order to remove the bigger mounds, the city will have to bring in heavy equipment.
