It looks like the plug may have been pulled on the big Dresden energy plant project…at least for some of the employees. Today workers at the site, which is off Mcglade School road, were told by a flier that the Dresden energy site is closed until further notice. It’s a 315-million dollar project. The notice when on to say all access to the site is prohibited at this time and that all Williams Construction Craft and Subcontractors are to leave the site in an orderly manner. The notice told the workers to check with their business agents for paychecks and personal property. The director of state and local affairs for Dominion Resource service company says today’s events are the result of the company’s plans to change contractors. Work at the site will continue. The plant is expected to open on time in the year 2004. Muskingum County sheriff Bob Stephenson says he sent some deputies to the site to make sure things remained orderly. About 50 people were affected the action.
