Ohio's first capital city Chillicothe threw the state a 200th birthday party Saturday...Streamers, balloons and fireworks floated over a crowd of about 4,000 who gathered in front of the Ross County Courthouse, built on the site of teh first capital. The city of 16,000 took part in the daylong celebration. Govenor Taft presided over the official reopening of Adena, Thomas Worthington's mansion overlooking the Scioto River Valley. Chillicothe served as Ohio's first capital from 1803 to 1810.
