Local celebrities served food and drinks Tuesday evening in hopes of serving the American Red Cross with future funds. The Golden Corral in Zanesivlle hosted a Celebrity Servers Night for the non-profit organization. The fundraiser doubled as a friendly competition for the Golden Corral franchise. Out of four area locations, the Zanesville restaurant came in third place by collecting more than $1200 for the Muskingum Valley Chapter. According to Dan Hartman of the Red Cross, the fundraiser could not have come at a better time. "In the last five weeks we've helped over 24 families...it's an unusual number at this time..." All money collected through tips and outside donations were donated to the Red Cross fund.
