The coalition of schools that first sued Ohio over school funding has returned to court in the county where the lawsuit began. The coalition for Equity and Adequacy of school funding asked a Perry County judge today to supervise the state’s response to fixing the funding system. The coalition cites orders the Perry County court issued four years ago requiring the state to develop proposals to six the education system. Those orders were delayed while the case worked it ways up to the Ohio Supreme Court. The coalition says a response in required now that the supreme court has removed itself from the case after declaring the system unconstitutional for a third time. The court ruled in December that the system still favors rich districts over poor.
