A couple from Lancaster encountered a man described as intoxicated. He was walking along State Route 146 when they picked him up and took him to the spillway area of the Dillon Dam. According to the couple, the man made some comments that he was going to jump into the water. Ten minutes later, the couple noticed he was gone. They called the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and reported the incident. Falls Township and the Zanesville Fire Department went to the scene and used boats to search the water. Later, authorities brought in the canine unit and cadaver dogs to possibly track him down. The incident caused huge commotion. If the man is found in good condition, he could face charges for inducing panic. The individual is described as a Caucasian male, in his late 30’s to early 40’s, five feet ten inches tall, medium to full build, with short dark hair. He had a two or three day old facial hair look and was wearing casual clothing. If you have any information on his whereabouts please contact the sheriff’s office at 452-3637.
