Sunday WHIZ brought the story of a possible drowning in the Dillon area. Rescue crews continued their search Monday, after a full day of searching on Sunday. According to Detective Mike Ryan with the Muskingum County Sheriff's Department, a Lancaster couple talked with a white male early Sunday morning. Reportedly, the man then threatened to jump into the river. Crews searched until midnight Sunday night. Searchers resumes at 9:00 Monday morning. With dive crews and cadaver dogs, the Sheriff's Department ended their search at 1:00 Monday afternoon. They canvased more than five miles along the river and the Dillon area. According to Detective Ryan, the search was called off after the search dogs lost the scent. The man was believed to be intoxicated. At this time, no missing persons reports have been filed. The Falls Township Fire Department, United Canine, Tri-County Dive Team, Ohio Search and Rescue, Army Corp of Engineers, and the Zanesville Fire Department all contributed to the search.
