A five-year-old boy snatched from a social worker in Columbus Wednesday was recovered within four hours with the help of Franklin County's first Amber Alert. The boy, Austin Zackery Nash, was found in a motel room with 35-year-old Tonia Caudill, who was charged with kidnapping. She allegedly used chemical spray on a social worker at a private social-work agency in Columbus before fleeing with the boy at 4:30 p.m. Franklin County aired a regional Amber Alert describing Caudill and Austin, as well as vehicles they might be using. Caudill and Austin were found as the motel at about 8:30 p.m. after officers spotted a rental truck that matched one of the vehicles described in the Amber Alert. The boy has been in custody of Frnaklin County Children Services most of his life and Caudill had been granted supervised visits.
