Soldiers from the 2-174th Avenger Unit of the Army National Guard will soon be receiving some little touches of home. Family members and friends gathered at the unit’s headquarters in McConnelsville to assemble care packages for the soldiers. Joyce Epifano, a volunteer, says she hopes the packages from home wrapped with a little tender loving care, will go a long way towards making the soliders feel as if they're at home. The team of volunteers went through boxes filled with items such as snack foods and toiletries. The items were collected by the McConnelsville Armory support group. The care packages will be individually shipped to over four hundred soldiers of the avenger unit. The unit was deployed to Ft. Bliss last month.
