The Ohio Senate starts work on the state’s 48 billion dollar budget. The G-O-P controlled Senate Finance Committee begins debate on the budget tomorrow and hopes to pass its' version by the end of May. Top issues that Senate lawmakers must debate are a proposal to raise Ohio’s sales tax by one penny and a plan to place electronic slot machines on Ohio’s senate horse tracks. They must also consider a house proposal to change the way schools are funded by reporting attendance monthly instead of yearly.
