An army soldier from the southwest Ohio city of Hamilton has been killed by a sniper in Baghdad. Devonna Rockhold says the army told her that her 23-year-old husband, private first class Marlin Rockhold, had been shot and killed while directing traffic Thursday on a Baghdad bridge. Rockhold was based at Fort Stewart, Georgia. A 1998 graduate of Hamilton high school, Rockhold joined the army in 2002 and had left for Kuwait on January 20th. Devonna Rockhold says she’s not sure when her husband moved into Iraq. She says she’s awaiting word from the army about whether the assailant had been captured.
