For the second time, the Zanesville Fire Department is investigating an arson fire in a Greenwood home scheduled to be demolished. Shortly after 4:10 p.m. Monday the Fire Department responded to a call at 990 Greenwood Avenue. According to Assistant Fire Chief Dave Lacy, the fire is classified as arson because fire investigators found two separate fire origins in the home. There are no suspects in the investigation, although neighbors have reported seeing teenagers and slightly younger children is the area around the time of the fires. The home was demolished to ensure fires would not be reset. But now fire and city officials are also worried about a second issue facing the houses on Greenwood Avenue: theft of property from inside the homes. The scavengers are also making the houses dangerous for law enforcement officials trying to secure the structures.
