The Muskingum County Sheriff’s department will soon have a new building to call home. Earlier this year the County Commissioners began looking for property large enough to house the entire Sheriff’s department. They chose the Danny James property at 1370 Adamsville Road, but had to wait for E-P-A approval of the property to move forward. Commissioner Ed Kenily says they commissioners actually purchased more land than previously planned. In all the cost of the property is 875-thousand dollars. Renovations of the property could begin as early as next month. The plan to purchase the property was not without controversy. Commissioners were questioned on when they had officially decided to buy the property and it possible sunshine laws were violated during the process.
