Muskingum County Sheriff Bob Stephenson says he expects an investigation into two house fires on May 3rd to be finished by Monday. Stephenson says an internal investigation is underway into the action of a 9-1-1 dispatcher and how he reacted to the report of two fires earlier this month. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is looking into the burning of the properties without proper permits. The sheriff says the properties are owned by the Downing Company of Zanesville and were being razed by James and Son’s excavating. The sheriff refused to name the dispatcher or exactly why he’s being investigated, or release any other details in the case. The sheriff did says he expected more details to be released by late Monday.
