The city of Cambridge is boosting tourism and business thanks to a $400,000 grant. So far, the city has used $60,000 of grant money to revitalize eight buildings. Now, officials are working to use the rest of the money on the demolition of three buildings to make room for a parking lot. The lot will accommodate tour buses traveling to town. City officials hope those buses will bring more tourists and more business to the area.
Also, as a result of downtown renovation, city officials hope to bring social gatherings to the community. They plan on holding festivities in the downtown area.
The entire renovation project is scheduled to be complete by June because that’s when the grant expires.
