Hazmat Crew Contains Spill At AK Steel

The Muskingum County Hazmat Crew worked for over five hours Friday to help clean up a spill at AK Steel. According to the Zanesville Fire Department, the company had a sulfuric acid spill at around 2:00 Friday afternoon. The spill reportedly happened in a containment area. Crews had to work to pump the acid out of the area. As of Friday night, the Fire Department doesn’t know how the spill happened. No one was injured.
