Failure to yield to oncoming traffic and an improper lane change were factors in a crash that sent four people to the hospital Saturday. The accident happened at the intersection of State Route 555 and State Route 719 at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon. According to Lt. Bill Shaw with the Zanesville Police Department, the accident occurred when 29-year-old Stephanie Winsor of Zanesville failed to yield while turning left onto SR 555. Winsor was struck by a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Kacey Weekley, also of Zanesville. Weekley had illegally changed lanes to avoid a turning car. Winsor’s car suffered major damage on the right side. A total of four people were transported to the hospital, three with incapacitating injuries: Winsor, Weekley, and his passenger 19-year-old Dusty Putterbaugh. Winsor’s passenger, her three-year-old daughter Riley was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. As of yet, no citations have been issued in the accident.
