The Ohio Highway Patrol says five people were killed in traffic crashes over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, down from 12 last year. Patrol spokeswoman sergeant Robin Schmutz says more troopers on the roads and a seat-belt enforcement campaign helped reduce the number of fatalities. One of the deaths was a motorcycle rider and another involved an all-terrain vehicle. The patrol says alcohol was a factor in three of the five deaths.
