The big Gus Macker basketball tournament is this weekend and organizers say there could be over 25-thousand attendees who will fill the streets of downtown Zanesville. That’s why the police department is beefing up security and assuring local residents that everything will be under control. Sponsors of the event have also hired many of the off duty officers, which will help provide additional security. Officers will fill the streets to help with congested traffic. Chief Eric Lambes says there haven’t been any problems years past and hope to keep it that way this year.
