The former Muskingum College student accused of killing her newborn baby was sentenced Monday.
Judge Butch Zwelling sentenced Jennifer Bryant to three years in prison. Bryant received three years on an involuntary manslaughter charge, one year on a child endangering charge and six months on an abuse of corpse charge. All the charges are to be served concurrently.
In 180 days Bryant can appeal for early judicial release. If she’s released she will be on community control and will have to perform community service. Judge Zwelling says Bryant, who has no prior record has a good chance being released early.
Zwelling also suggested to Bryant that she consider speaking with other young girls about her mistake as part of her community service.
