A fatal motorcycle crash in Roseville leaves one local family mourning. According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, 25-year-old William Goldsmith of Zanesville was test-driving a motorcycle when a Roseville Police officer on East Athens Road stopped him for speeding. When asked for identification, Goldsmith sad he had to go home to get it…he accelerated the bike and passed two pickup trucks. According to Sgt. Mike Forshey with the Patrol, Goldsmith had only gone a few hundred yards when he took a left turn too quickly and slid off the bike. He hit a telephone pole and was pronounced dead at the scene. Sgt. Forshey said it took troopers almost four hours to locate Goldsmith’s family because he was not wearing identification. The accident happened at 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
