Free food and a game of golf were all part of an effort to better the Appalachian community. Local professionals attended an advisor seminar at the Longaberger Golf Club, held by the foundation for Appalachian Ohio. Their board strives to improve the quality of life in the region by helping people create a lasting legacy through charitable giving. They hope to build stronger communities and improve the region's economic opportunities. Through the help of local donors the organization funds a variety of programs including: little leagues, dental care and food pantries. Those who donate, not only receive a tax break, but also the pleasure of helping their communities. Kevin Ritz, donor and former Colorado Rockies pitcher, hopes that his contribution will inspire others to do the same.
