Zanesville Mayor Jack Fenton joined with mayors across America to draw attention to the importance of small cities. This is the third year for the "National Small Cities and Towns Day", but only the first year that Zanesville has participated. The event was established to address some of the unique issues that affect small communities throughout the United States, where most of the population lives. The Mayor says that he believes these small communities are the backbone of the country and because they're responsible for providing a wide range of services and programs to meet the needs of their citizens, they too deserve to be celebrated.
