The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has announced that it sent out notices of violation in connection with the burning of two homes in Perry Township in Muskingum County. EPA Spokeswoman Kay Gilmore tells WHIZ news the agency sent violation letters to Danny James of James and Son Excavating and local developer Jack Downing. The EPA started investigating the fires on May 3rd. The Downing Company owns the homes. It’s alleged that James burned the properties without a permit. Both James and Downing have 14 days to respond to the EPA letters.
