Earlier this week, an employee at the Clark Station on Putnam Avenue reported an armed robbery. It turns out, there was no armed robbery at all. According to Detective Ric Roush with the Zanesville Police Department, charges will be filed in the next couple of days against a female employee at the station. That employee reported a robbery where two suspects stole money and lottery tickets. As it turns out, Roush says the employee actually stole the money and tickets, making up the robbery to cover the theft. He name is being withheld until charges are filed. Roush says they questioned the employee after the lottery commission investigated the missing tickets and found that some of the tickets were redeemed during the time period when the employee worked. He says the suspect admitted to the crimes.
