The state’s utility regulatory agency says S-B-C should be able to enter the lucrative long-distance market in Ohio. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio says the state’s largest phone company has made enough progress in customer service to begin selling long-distance. The final decision is up to the Federal Communications Commission, which could decide this fall. The P-U-C-O says S-B-C must still report on the progress its made in providing local service. The agency has fined the company millions of dollars for missing service calls.
