A Columbus Man changes his plea to guilty in connection with four counts of drug charges in Muskingum County. 25-year-old Fred Wolverton III pleaded guilty to one count possession of a drug called MDMA, one count possession of marijuana, one count possession of drug paraphernalia – such as scales and one count possession of cocaine. Wolverton originally pleaded not guilty to the charges on June 4th. He was arrested in May on Interstate 70 during a routine traffic stop. State troopers found more than 100 grams of cocaine in his vehicle. According to Asst. Muskingum County Prosecutor, Jim Workman, the office is recommending a four-year prison sentence, a minimum $7,500 fine and a one-year suspension of Wolverton’s driver’s license. Judge Mark Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation into the case.
