New housing is one step closer to completion in Zanesville. The city completed the demolition portion of the Greenwood Project, finishing the third phase. The other two phases, acquiring the property and relocating the residents, happened over the past year. “There’s some site preparation still left to do, but we should be ready to turn over the responsibility to the project partners for groundbreaking later this summer,” said Meg Deedrick, Zanesville Community Development Director. She said construction on the new homes should begin within the next six months. The city of Zanesville has completed its responsibilities for the project. Now the workload falls on Zanesville Metropolitan Housing. The rest of this project will mostly be funded through the housing tax credit process.
