The heat did not keep Perry County residents from having a good time this afternoon. Today marked the first day of the Perry County Fair. The smell of steak sandwiches, cotton candy, and snow cones filled the fairgrounds while people of all ages enjoyed the rides and entertainment. Tom Hampton, fair director, said the best is yet to come with tractor pulls and modified trucks taking center stage on Saturday night. Another big night for the fair is Friday night. This year Doug Stone and Holly Dunn will be performing at eight o’clock. Ten dollar track seating is still available. General admission to the show is free. The fair wraps up on Sunday.
