This weekend's Farmers' Market at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds opened in a unique and memorable way. State Representative Jim Asladides opened the market with the ringing of Muskingum County's Bicentennial bell. His attendance also is a show of support for a new war memorial. Asladides says that through a memorial, local fallen heroes will never be forgotten. Veterans were raising money Saturday to ultimately place a new bronze bell at the market. These bronze bells inturn support the purchase of the war memorial. Local sculptor Alan Cottrill made a total of 200 bells that can be purchased for $1000 each.
