A former Coshocton fire captain plans to follow in the footsteps of his father and run for mayor. Tim Turner spent twenty-eight years with the Coshocton fire department, ten of them as captain. Now he seeks the city’s highest office. Running as a democrat, Turner made the decision based off people pledging their support. He thinks he is the right man to make a change. “The community needs a lot of improvement. We need industry. We need business. I’ve got a lot of good ideas. I’d could probably help the community,” said Turner. One of those ideas is a new street program. Turner said there are grants available to improve the streets. But he really just wants to make a difference. “We just established a port authority here in the city of Coshocton. I think if I appoint the right people to represent the city of Coshocton to the port authority, it will help bring some new business and industry into Coshocton,” said Turner. Turner plans on becoming the mayor full time if elected. Currently, he works for Frontier Supply.
