If you find it difficult making time to stop at the library for the summer’s hottest book, your computer might be able to help you out. It’s a new program the Muskingum County library is starting called the Online Book Club. All you need is an email address and you can select titles from fiction to business reading. You don’t even need a library card to participate. “What registrants will receive is a chapter everyday, Monday through Friday. It takes about five minutes to read and then at the end of the week, you can decide if you want to borrow that book from the library or just go on to the next book the next week,” said Blair Tom, Muskingum County Library manager of customer service and public relations. The service is free of charge to anyone interested in joining. It can give you a taste of a book you’ve always wanted to read, or preview a book you’ve never heard of. Those interested in joining can register at Then just click on “reference” and select “online book club.”
