An anonymous tip led sheriff’s deputies to a residence in northern Muskingum County earlier this week, where authorities made a major drug find. According to Sheriff Bob Stephenson, on Sunday, July 27th deputies in the drug unit found an abundance of marijuana plants growing in a garden-like setting. The residence is in Nashport, where 245 marijuana plants ranging in size from six to eight feet tall were confiscated. The plants were sent to be tested and weighed. Depending on the weight of the plants, the person or persons responsible will be charged with a felony of cultivating the plants. Sheriff Stephenson says the total value for the confiscated plants is approximately $245,000.
