The Cambridge Police Department continues to investigate the homicide of a juvenile male on Stewart Avenue in Cambridge. The suspect in the crime, 36-year-old Marvin Johnson, was captured by the Zanesville Police Department and Muskingum’s Sheriff’s Office late Friday morning, after Johnson fled from Guernsey County authorities. Cambridge Police Chief Richard Wayt says a confidential informant gave police a tip that Johnson may be headed to Zanesville in a taxi. This tip lead to the successful apprehension of the suspect. After a foot pursuit Johnson was found by K-9 dogs among trees in Chaps Run Park near Luck Avenue. According to Wayt, BCI agents were summoned to the Stewart Avenue residence and are assisting detectives in processing the scene. Charges are expected to be filed Monday.
