The Wilds opens its gates for a night of food, music and safari. The ninth annual Safari in the Wilds brought almost 500 people for a wildlife adventure this evening. Supporters were able to take tours throughout the facility despite the inclement weather. There were a few bright spots with the rain, the String Quartet featuring Laura Schumann provided entertainment and some past trustees were recognized. Larry Fletcher, director of communications for the Wilds said the trustees were some of the people involved in getting the Wilds started. Although none of the money generated from the event was earmarked for a particular project, the money helps support the Wilds three goals: conservation, research and education.
