In a press conference held Monday, Guernsey County Prosecutor Keith Plummer charged 36-year-old Marvin Johnson with aggravated murder. Johnson allegedly bludgeoned 13-year-old Daniel Bailey of Cambridge last Friday morning. He then fled to the Zanesville area where he was apprehended in Chaps Run Park. Bailey was found dead by his mother when she returned from work on the overnight shift. Police cite robbery or a personal relationship between the mother of the victim and the defendant as possible motives for the murder. Johnson awaits a preliminary hearing August 25th.
