Attempts for a mayoral debate continue in Zanesville. Rick Lavy continues to push for a debate between the three candidates. He recently verified with Time Warner Cable that the debate can be held on the public access channel. But incumbent mayor Jack Fenton said he will not agree to use the channel for that purpose. As for the debate itself, Fenton said he has no problem with it. Democratic candidate Dave Joseph said he is ready for a debate if the decision is made to have one. Ohio University Zanesville has offered its auditorium for the debate at no cost. Fenton is scheduled to meet with Time Warner officials on Friday regarding a televised debate on the public access channel.
