A handful of parks projects have the go ahead in Cambridge thanks to a three on three basketball tournament. This year the Gus Macker basketball tournament brought in over thirty-three thousand dollars for the Cambridge City Parks Department. Two projects are already underway thanks to the money. The first is a concrete pad by the football field’s concession stand. The other project is lights for one of the little league baseball fields. Officials said the money really helps accomplish a lot of the parks department’s goals. Other projects funded by Macker money include outdoor rubber basketball courts, repaired hardwood floor for the armory, and brand new baskets for the indoor courts. Officials said the lights for the baseball field improve Cambridge’s chances of hosting the state little league baseball championships next year.
