Major thunderstorms roll through Muskingum County, and the rest of our region, leaving a trail of damage across many areas including Dresden. Crews spent much of the morning clearing up downed tree limbs, like at the IGA. Dresden residents said the wind was blowing curtains horizontally. Some even noticed trees cracking and falling in their yards. Valarie Prouty of Dresden heard a tree limb crack and break off in her neighbor’s yard. Prouty said her children were afraid of a tornado, but none were reported. But with all the branches snapping and buckling under the winds, she was thinking about safety and protecting her children. Winds tore an awning off the side of the Whispering Winds apartment complex on Joy Drive. Nobody was injured from the damages.
