The Muskingum County health department looks to the community to help continue many of its programs. The department began its one mill levy campaign for the November 4th ballot today. Officials said the levy will generate over one million dollars over the next ten years. To break it down, a one mill levy will end up costing the average homeowner $23.00 per year. The programs funded by this levy covers a wide range. Health Commissioner Robert Titko said one such program is doctors volunteering once a week with diabetes patients. The dental plan is another area. If passed, the current half mill levy will be dropped. A larger levy is needed due to spending cutbacks to many non-profit organizations
