A local biddy football league loses a football field and a team will soon be left with no place to call home. The South Rebels have been playing football at Grover Cleveland middle school for the past several years. But things are about to change. Muskingum County is getting a handful of new schools over the next five years, and the new South middle school will be built on the South Rebels current field. The league has recently repaid back debts and been forced to upgrade equipment, leaving them with no money to go towards a new field. And in this case, many kids do not have transportation, so proximity does matter. At this point, the team should be able to play out the remainder of the season on the current field. Anyone with information or help for the South Rebels can contact Heidi McPeak at 452-0629.
