Thanks to donations from the public, the Zanesville Fire Department has been able to raise thousands for “Jerry’s Kids.” The Muscular Dystrophy Association receives millions of dollars each year from firefighters who raise money through their “fill the boot campaign.” This year, Zanesville crews were able to raise a substantial amount of cash. They raise 15,434 dollars through the boot campaign and another 3,000 through their annual golf outing. Firefighters in the United States and Canada raised 18.3 million dollars total. In Ohio, the Zanesville Fire department ranked number three in the amount of funds raised. Firefighters have been involved with the Jerry Lewis foundation for fifty years. The Zanesville Fire Department got involved with the boot campaign almost ten years ago.
