Muskingum County Commissioners applied for a three-year grant that may help save the county $300,000. According to Commissioner Don Madden, the money is through Issue 2 funding and it will be used to pay the interest on the loan for the Bartlett Run Sewer project. Commissioners expect to hear about the application within the next year. The sewer project, which will run parallel to the Licking River and eventually up to Creamery Road is expected to begin about a year from now. The sewer line will eliminate two treatment plants and allow the water in that area to be treated at the city’s sewer treatment facility.
