A woman in Coshocton was found in contempt of court and fined 50 dollars after she brought her children to jury selection. Court documents say municipal judge David Hostetler ruled that Nerissa Foor was in contempt because she failed to make herself available “as summoned” for jury duty. Foor, of West Lafayette, says she came to the August 27th jury selection with her one and three year old children because she couldn’t fine a babysitter on short notice. The judge says he suspects that half of the other jurors that day had children and had to make other arrangements. He says it was a problem that could have been avoided. Foor says she was led to believe she could bring her children to the courthouse after phoning a court clerk.
