Water customers in Zanesville may soon experience discoloration, but the county advises this is a positive thing. About one month ago the county acquired the East Muskingum Water Authority. County officials found that hydrants in their north system had not been flushed in quite some time. County Commissioner Don Madden says the county will begin an annual flushing system on Monday, September 15th on Pinecrest, Twin Hills, or Jersey Ridge Road to West Pike. All side streets as well as Kimes Road and the Cliffrock subdivision are affected. The flushing system will continue through the end of this month.
