One man is in custody after a chase with deputies on Friday. 35-year-old Ryan Hardcastle is charged with one count of aggravated burglary and one count of fleeing and eluding. The chase started near a Philo home just before 11 in the morning. According to Detective Larry Brocklehurst with the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Department, Hardcastle entered the home of his ex-girlfriend and forced her to leave along with their 9-month-old daughter. Detectives say it was alleged he had a knife. Brocklehurst said when deputies tried to stop Hardcastle in his truck he fled. He then reportedly parked his truck at a relative’s house and then tried to flee on foot. Hardcastle is being held in the Muskingum County Jail – mare charges are possible.
